What Do My Lab Test Report Indicate?
Hi .. my 12 year old son has a 4 x 4cm cyst on his spleen and another on his kidney.. found by ultrasound after being sick off and on for 8 weeks. Blood test have ruled out parasitic cyst. We are waiting for a referral to a specialist but wondering what will be done. We are very worried

Hello,
At the age of 12 years, these cysts are mostly due to benign cystic disease. In this, the patient has cysts (benign) in multiple organs like spleen, kidney, liver etc.
No treatment is required except wait and watch. The only indication for surgery is enlarging cyst or compression to other organs. So consult a specialist. Get done repeat ultrasound after 6-8 months.
