What Do My Lab Test Reports Indicate?

Several months ago, a cat scan on my sisters torso showed hot behind her breast bone & was thought to be lymphoma but a biopsy presented as sarcoidosis. Prednisone was prescribed. Two iron shots were given her because her blood was five units low. Her iron is now at 15 and she is exhausted. For the last few weeks she has been vomiting every day unless she takes an antinnausea medication. Today an ultrasound on her gallbladder showed two dArk spots and the technician told her the doctor would call if warranted. This all started at the beginning of the year and she feels like hell. She lives in TN and I live in CA. Can you tell me what the dark spots are? I am worried sick about her. Thank you so much.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* The dark spots in the gall bladder can be related to accumulation of biliary sludge or pigment stones most likely.

* However, certain additional facts and figures are necessary to corelate for further evaluation as

- gall bladder distension
- gall bladder wall edema
- posterior shadowing
- residuals in gall bladder
- dilatation of intra or extra hepatic ducts

Kindly share whole report of USG as scanned copy during follow up chat for better judgement and guidance.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
