Hello there, Im a 44 yes old family man , when I was 19 yo I contacted HepB and been carrier for a long time, Since 2 yrs ago I havent had any pain in my rt stomach but until lately I am always feeling headache and dizziness , took a lab exam and found out my GPT 247 GOT 148 GGT 210. Is it a sign of serious case on my liver, but i am not having any pain or anything on my stomach.do I still have some hope to reduce them and be more normL again. Thank you
Raised SGPT and GGT may indicate liver injury. It may be due to many reasons like hepatitis, alcohol intake, altered lipid profile, medicines, auto immune causes etc. SGOT is non specific and it increases in many conditions.
You may need few more investigations like routine hemogram, random blood sugar, viral markers, lipid profile, urine RE/ME,ultrasound of abdomen.
I suggest tablet ursodeoxycholic acid 300 mg twice daily for three months to my patients. It helps in regeneration of liver cells.
You should avoid alcohol if you take it.
Get well soon. Take Care Dr.Indu Bhushan
