What Do My Lab Test Results Indicate?

Im a 50 yo female ...I just got labs back. My triglycerides were 204 and cholesterol was 203, my A1C was 8.4 (down from 12.2 6 months ago), my fasting is 175+, I have tachycardia, and I am overweight. I take 2 types of insulin, about 120 units daily, 2 diabetes pills, small dose of BP meds to protect kidneys, and cholesterol meds. I have also undergone a hysterectomy in 2012 and have not been taking hormones. I do have a cardiologist appointment next month but I am worried, what can I expect? I also had an abnormal EKG

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your cholesterol and triglycerides are both elevated. Fasting glucose is elevated and HbA1c as well which shows jot well-managed glucose levels.

I think you should approach to a healthy diet and exercise to reduce cholesterol, triglycerides and glucose levels.

Also you may need to increase insulin injections to improve diabetes control.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
