When i thought my typhoid was over, Yesterday (23.06.2016) my lab readings were 1.160 positive for typhi O and H. Para negative... Am now on a prescription (Ofloxomacin, Calipol). Kindly advise whether am in the right medication... or any tablet change if u suggest... Thank You... What are my normal readings when my typhoid is gone..

Hi,

Based on the history you have shared, if you are not having fever spikes and symptomatic relief is experienced, antibiotics should be stopped after completing the course as prescribed as you are in middle and afterwards no need to repeat the confirmation of tests. Widal tests and the reading you mentioned are not popular ways to diagnose and treat enteric fever or typhoid fever, rather almost obsolete in developed healthcare systems, and most authentic way is blood cultures and for career state stool cultures. If you are not having any growth in cultures taken off antibiotics, you may not need to bother about the other investigation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Regards,
