What Do My Thyroid Test Results Indicate?

Hi I m a male 63yr old, I have t2 diabetes A1c 2 months ago (6.1) but obeise 275lbs although I have a really good blood test cholesterol 137, HDL 46, LDL 72, triglycerides 94. My TSH is 2.93, T4 1.3, but my T3 total is a low 71, I take kelp pills which has 300mcg iodine and 600mg kelp. My question is am I hurting my thyroid by taking this supplement? I do take a lot of supplements. I have A-fib but haven t had an episode of fast or crazy heart beat since Dec. I rarely go out of sinus. Otherwise I m the healthiest fat man, lol. Thanking you in advanc, Al P.

Hello,

I will suggest you to be careful in selecting supplements. An authentic good quality manufacturer's products are indicated with careful use. Kelp contains iodine which may lead to hypo or hyperthyroidism if taken for a relatively long time. Afib may be a part of this side effect.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
