What Do My Ultrasound Results Indicate?

Having a 2nd ultrasound tomorrow LUQ abdominal lump. 1st US in March when smaller...inconclusive, and the lump is larger now, thus the 2nd US. There now a small lump on the other (right) side (symmetric?) in the same place. Also, at age 49, I haven't had a period in a year now and had a total hip replacement 5 months ago. Can any of this be connected?

Welcome to health care magic.

1.There was a lump in the first ultrasound in the LUQ the possibilities could be splenomegaly in the first place.
2.But since the earlier scan has not mentioned any thing about the spleen, the other possibilities are lymph nodal enlargement.
3.As its seen bilaterally as you have mentioned - more of lymph nodal pathology.
4.The next possibilities related to the periods suggest adnexal space occupying lesion.
5.Ovarian lesions also seen bilaterally extending up to the upper quadrants.
6.Best investigation of choice in this case will be CT with contrast, as ultrasound will be inconclusive.

Good luck.
Hope i have answered your query,
any thing to ask ? do not hesitate to ask.
