What Do Numbness And Tingling Sensation In The Left Arm Indicate?
When i was eight I was hit in the back of my neck by a baseball bat and knocked unconcious. I am 69 now, and have experienced numbness in hands, shocks in my left arm, and now very bad pain in the middle of my hand. I have slight urine incontinence, impetance, buzzing in my head, and arm shocks. I also playde 4 years of high school foot ball when helmets were not very good. Who should I see?
As per your complaints, the cause might not be related to your past history. Numbness and tingling of arm might be due to compression of nerve supplying that area or any degenerative change in the supplying nerve.
It can be diagnosed by symptoms itself. You can go for following investigations: 1. MRI scan 2. X-ray arms 3. Nerve conduction tests
Coming to treatment, you can follow the below: 1. Pain relieving drugs is first line of treatment 2. Physiotherapy helps to some extent 3. Steroid injection in case of severe pain
No need to worry, this is a common change with advancing age.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Vamsi Krishna Chittimoju
