Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The numbness you feel on your left thumb, forefinger and middle fingers once you wake up could be related to compression of nearby nerves while sleeping especially if you do not change position. However, taking into account your age (56 years old) I'd advise to run a good physical examination and a complete cardiac check up to rule out any cardiovascular events. If nothing cardiac, then, should consult with neurologist further.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
