What Do Pain And Burning Sensation On The Back Indicate?

I am 68 years old and I am having been hurting from my back 9th rib all around my body to my chest bone. Burning, stinging and a knot in my back. I fell on an escalator Nov 4, 1916 and no doctor has been able to help me. I have had x-rays, ct-scans MRI upper and lower and many more test. Went to doctor, Thoracic surgeon, pain dr. and neurologist. The neurologist surgeon had the MRI done and he found C2-3-4-5- messed up but on my left side. He has scheduled neck surgery for 9-11-17 but says he can t promise that the surgery will help my rib. I did break and shatter the right 9th rib on 12-3-1991 and had surgery to repair it. When I fell on the escalator didn t hurt until 3-4 days and then it hurt just like in 1991. Test showed the rib has degenerated and spots on both lungs that wasn t seen before. I also have fibromyalgia, sleepapnea, diabetes, total left knee replacement, breast surgery but was calcifications, skin cancer spot on face and head, teeth have disentergrated, and I am waiting until after rib pain is taken care of to have Cateracts in both eyes taken out ( dr,. said they are ready) and 2 root canals. Getting old is so bad. I just want to go somewhere that will consider all my problems and help me. I also have lung problems due to diesel fumes exposure. I am trying to fill out forms to go to the MAYO CLINIC IN JACKSONVILLE, FA. Please can you help me? sORRY FOR MISSPELLING ETC. I thought you were a DR. from MAYO CLINIC

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

As per the case details, the burning pain is most likely to be related to neurologic component via damaged nerve endings via various pathology processes. However, if you can provide me details of MRI and other evaluation, I would be able to focus more precisely over the same. Take care.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
