What Do Pain And Discomfort In The Big Toe And Knee Indicate?

i woke up Sunday with pain & discomfort in my right big toe and knee. I am not sure if it is coming from the fact that I did go down 5 steps and sat in a chair that was uncomfortable for about 2 hours Saturday. I have never had the pain in my big toe before. I have sent my discomfort to a orthopedics surgeon and a Nuerology surgeon , orthopedics suggested I see the neurologists. What do you think?? I am 78 yrs old. I do know that I cannot get in and out of my Sequoia except on the drivers side without having pain the next day. I am not sure if it is the neuropathy that I have in my back along hammer toes but the knee pain is not something I want to ignore and do more damage to any joint at this time. I do not have steps at my home except on front porch entrance that I totally avoid. My back entrance from vehicle is 1/2 step up into my house that I manage without any discomfort or pain more than the usual the I have from my scoliosis that is so severe Emory surgeons would not discuss surgery. I really didn t know it was that severe until they did an xray from my head to the end of my spine that show I have a severe upside down S. You may email me.
