What Do Pain And Discomfort In The Right Thigh Indicate?

It feels like something is tugging the muscle or nerve in my right thigh, from my hip to my knee. It s very painful at times and annoying with discomfort when the severe pain subsides. This goes on for several days and then it stops. I can go months without iy happening again and then, all of a sudden, one day it starts again. This has been going on for about a year. Do you have any idea what this could be?

Thanks for contacting with your health concern

1. As the symptoms are almost chronic, thus symptomwise approach which you should undergo is;

. get an appointment with an Orthopedic surgeon regarding your symptoms, as it could be

i. hip discomfort because of hip osteoarthritis, AVN [avascular necrosis], bursitis
ii. whereas pain/ discomfort could be due to DVT [deep vein thrombosis], PVD [peripheral vascular disorder] or simply because of cramps in calf [due to diabetes, calcium/salt deficiency]

PS. The symptoms have to be carefully assessed by your doctor to ensure that whether it requires immediate medical attention or long-term therapy.
