What Do Pain And Stiffness On The Middle Finger Indicate?

Hey Doc! The the vein on the side of my knuckle on the middle finger of my left hand popped for no reason. I didn t hit, cut, or bash it in any way. bashed it or squashed it at all. I had a sudden stinging feeling and with in seconds I saw the the side of my knuckle turn purple. It stings at first and then it continues to hurt. It s been 5 minutes since it happened and it feels a little stiff. I m able to move it but the connecting third part of my finger feels sore. It happened a week ago to the middle finger of my right hand. Why does this happen? Should I be concerned?

Hello,

I think you are more sensitive than the actual situation happened. You do not have to worry about that.

If there was trivial trauma happened during the time course and you have noticed, then it will usually subside in a week and no requirement of any particular treatment.

If you still requiring any painkiller, then take Ibuprofen, Paracetamol or Diclofenac for 3 days and symptoms will subside soon.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Archana
