What Do Pain And Swelling In The Toe Joints Indicate?

Hello, I have a question. For a few weeks I have had pain in my big toe at the joint . When I bend the toe or walk it hurts. And it is stiff when I bend it. Tonight i started having pain in that leg. The pain hurts from my ankle to my knee. Could the toe pain cause the leg pain? Or could this be a blood clot causing the pain.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It is toe pain radiating to knee .and second possibility is that the primary disease of big toe has also affected knee joint.

There is no possibility of blood clot. Get x-ray of big toe and knee joints. Also get lab tests as Hb, TLC, DLC, ESR, CRP, serum Uric acid, RA factor. You can also take tablet Aceclofenac two times a day.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Varinder Joshi
