What Do Painful Bumps On The Legs Indicate?

The skin on my legs burn and get little bumps like you get chill bumps. It hurts to rub the skin or even have your clothes rub it. Not all the time but fairly often. It started with just a small patch above one knee, now it keeps spreading up on front and back of legs and now getting on my buttocks.

Painful bumps on the legs seems due to allergic reaction, folliculitis, heat rash and seborrheic dermatitis. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to apply cold compresses on skin. Keep the site clean and dry, apply over the counter antibiotics ointment. Avoid pricking bumps. Apply soothing agent calamine lotion. Take over the counter antihistamine like benadryl and protect it from sun ray exposure. If condition doesn't get well then consult dermatologist for proper examination. Doctor may prescribe corticosteroid ointment , antibiotics or immunosuppressants.
