What Do Painful Bumps Under The Arms Indicate?

I ve been having pus filled lumps under my arm that can t seem to go away. They re very painful especially when I put my arms down. Is there anything I can do to get rid of these bumps? I saw a dermatologist a year ago. They told me it was a form of dermatitis and with antibiotics it should disappear. It went away and months later it comes back.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The fact that the lesion keeps recurring may indicate that either the treatment was incomplete and a small nidus of pus remained or the bacteria causing the infection is residing/living on the skin.

The lesions need to be incised, if large enough and drained properly. A swab of the skin may also be needed so that you can be given an appropriate course of antibiotics

I hope this helps
