What Do Painful Lymph Nodes On The Base Of The Skull Indicate?

I have done meth a few times this last month and the first time my lymph nodes at the base of my skull were hurting so bad I went to the doc they gave me an antibiotic and it felt better. Well the last day of meds I didn t take and got smoked some more now my lymph nodes on both sides of my head are hurting and I m wondering if there is anything I can do at home to make this go away or lessen the pain?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Painful lymph nodes can be related to an infection.

I suggest doing a complete blood count to confirm the diagnosis.

If the diagnosis is confirmed I suggest to treat it with prescribed antibiotics.

Meanwhile, I suggest using anti-inflammatory medication for the pain such as Ibuprofen.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
