What Do Painful Spots On The Scalp Indicate?

Hi, I have dry painful spots on my scalp. It started with two painful spots, they have slightly grown and I applied heat to them with a wet warm clean towel. This helped with the pain but then the larger spot started leaking a clear fluid which smells weird. Is it infected? It s been slowly leaking for three days now and I can t get it checked for another week. I ve been using t-gel shampoo which seems to be helping with the dry skin scabs but not with the larger spot with the fluid coming out. Also, I have been applying Savlon to it, which helps with the pain but doesn t stop the fluid from coming out. What can I do to get rid of the pus and to dry it up? Is this eczema or psoriasis? I can t sleep properly since the last few days because this is at the back of my scalp so I can t lay down properly. It made my lymph node in my neck swell up but that s going down now. It feels like it s all getting a bit better but there s still pain, and I just really need to dry up this fluid and stop the pus from coming out. Please tell me what I can do to help? And what s wrong? Thank you so much.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
hello, i can understand your concern.
based on your symptoms, it appears to be a case of folliculitis(hair follicle infection). associated symptoms of lymph node enlargement also indicate presence of infection.
this usually requires a small course of antibiotics like penicillins or cephalosporins. After the course, this will subside. Antibiotics require a doctors prescription. Kindly consult your doctor for the same. this isnt a concern to be deeply worried about.
hope, i have answered your query. have a nice day
