What Do Painful Stomach And Blood In Stools Suggest?
My gut hurts really bad up high. I don't have a gallbladder, so I'm not sure what is going on. I went to the doctor a month or so ago and he said that he thought it was Pancreatitis, but I drink very little. I take Aleve to help the pain so I can work, but there are days when it is so bad, I'm not sure what to do. I've also have bloody stool. Which he said was probably from hemorrhoids. I'm concerned. What do I need to do next.
It is possible that the hemorrhoids are the cause of the blood in the stool but if you have no history of imaging of the intestines, this should be done to rule out other causes.
Imaging such colonscopy or barium studies. If one was done in the past few years then it may not need repeating. One of these tests would be able to rule out more serious causes for the blood in the stool.
You may also need to consider imaging of the other aspects of the abdomen eg an ultrasound to take a look at the stomach, pancreas
It would be best to re visit a doctor for review as soon as possible.
I hope this helps
