What Do Palpitations When On Lorazepam Indicate?

I take 1mg of lorazepam twice a day plus 1/2 mg with a quarter of Trazodone for bed. I have been having bad palpitations when i took my dinner dose of lorazepam tonight i felt like my heart stopped or skipped really badly I have been feeling weak sick and not myself and i don t know what to do any more i need help getting off this lorazepam and get on something that will help me calm these palpitations please help me

Hi,

Without an exam, I can only give general information. The withdrawal of Lorazepam is more common to cause palpitations and whatever it was prescribed for is VERY likely to cause palpitations and withdrawal from them can be quite dangerous and needs supervision. I cannot say in your particular case, but generally, it's a pretty involved situation to come off of benzodiazepine as it can cause seizures.
