What Do Pink Particles In The Urine Indicate?

I am male, age 57. Recently I have been seeing particles in my urine. They are pinkish to white colored. I see this every time that I urinate. I also have soreness (pain) along my right side immediately above the base of my penis. When I urinate, there is a feeling of high urgency, although not necessarily a large volume.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I understand your concern.

Pink particles in urine associated with pain are indicating urinary/genital tract infection.

Further tests are recommended to determine the right diagnosis:
- complete blood count
- urine analysis
- urine culture and sensitivity testing
- abdominal ultrasound

For the moment, I advise to:
- increase fluids intake
- take cranberry supplement
- take spasmex or mephenamic acid to reduce the pain

Wish fast recovery.
