What Do Purple Spots On The Elbow Indicate?

Hello. Today, someone hit me on the inside of my elbow. They smacked it very hard and continuously for about half an hour. One time they smacked it very hard and red lines/dots appeared. At first I thought it was blood, because it looked like I was cut at first glance, but I didn t bleed. I also have a few very small purple dots near the area. What are these marks?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Usually, when hit, bleeding will occur on that site although no external blood coming out.

I advise applying cold compresses for the following today and tomorrow. After that apply alternating warm and cold compresses to dissolve the blood.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini,
