What Do Rashes Around The Neck, Arms And Legs Indicate?

I m a school health aide and I just had a student come into my office with what appeared to be A LOT of bites around his neck (mostly the front) his groin area and then a few here and there on his arms and legs. They could almost be hives. I m just not sure Ive never seen anything like it and not sure if I should be worried that he has something contagious...?

Hi..
Thanks for the query..

It can be insect or bug bites that can also be anything in his clothes or his seating area that might have caused the hives..
If the hives are itchy then it further confirms bites..
So my suggestion is to consult an Emergency room and get evaluated and he can be advised anti allergics like benadryl and application of benadryl ointment over the hives..
A blood test can also be done to rule out infection if it is suspected and a course of antibiotics is advised if infection is positive..

Hope this helps..

Regards.
