What Do Rashes On Body After Scratch By A Dog Indicate?

my 20 y/o daughter was scratched by her dog and now has oval shaped rash like areas on her stomache under her breasts on her back and legs. The area which was scratched is oval shaped with a ring around it brownish red in color but all of the other oval shaped rash individual spots are filled in completely. What do you think it might be?

Hello,

Scratches on skin by dog will lead to bleeding on the skin where scratched, however, rashes else where are not expected. Kindly, note that your dog is vaccinated. If the dog is vaccinated then rabies vaccination is not required and tetanus vaccination will be sufficient. Presence of rashes under breast area could be due to some other reason like fungal infection. I suggest you to consult your dermatologist for clinical assessment, relevant investigations and thus management.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
