What Do Rashes On The Arms And Legs Of An Infant Indicate?
I have a 19 month old baby with a rash on his arms and legs. I took him to urgent care and of course the rash disappeared a lot before the Dr. saw him. The Dr. gave him Prednisolone 15mg/5ml for 5 days and said to follow up with pediatrician on Monday. I gave him one dose of medication. Rash has reappeared. No fever. Eating and acting normal. Dr. said to make sure no breathing difficulties. I am afraid to go to sleep. No new laundry detergent or foods. Advice?

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
As per your query your infant have symptoms of rashes on the arms and legs which seems to be due to allergic reaction, contact dermatitis, improper hygiene, eczema and heat rash. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to
- Apply cold compresses to rashes.
- Apply petroleum jelly and protect them from sun exposure.
- Avoid itching or pricking rashes.
- Take antihistamine like Benadryl twice a day.
If condition does not get well then consult dermatologist for proper examination . Doctor may prescribe Immunosuppressants along with Corticosteroid ointment and antibiotics .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
