I have had a rash that appeared on my upper chest and torso and arms. The doctor said that it was hives and treated the rash with prednisone and antihistamines. The rash disappeared after about 6 days but slowly reappeared. I am now in week 3 with what appears to be hives. I go back to the doctor this week. My daughter mentioned that one of her coworkers had what appeared to be hives much like mine and it was determined that she had a form of strep...without a sore throat or swollen glands. Since I have not changed detergents nor eaten anything out of the ordinary, i am somewhat skeptical that these hives are caused by something that I have eaten. Also the outbreak of hives occurred after a visit from our granddaughter, who was diagnosed with strep a week ago. May I have please your thoughts?
