What Do Rashes On The Back Along With Joint Ache Indicate?

My husband has large welts over his back and shoulders. Sometimes on his arms legs and head. He has severe joint pain and fatigue. This has been on going for 2-3 months and getting worse. We have tried changing and watching for anything that could be different in our lives to trigger this.. Nothing is different. Prednisone did help but they came back. Benadryl, Loratidine, Zertec, Hydrazine, little to no help either. Some topicals help with the itch.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Joint pain can occur because of many reasons like arthritis, osteoarthritis, gout, chronic fatigue syndrome, sometimes due to sprains & strains. Do not take medications on your own it will do more harm than good. Visit ER, get your husband examined, let him get the required CBC, Joint fluid test, urinalysis, X-ray Imaging test & CT done. Your husband needs to be evaluated. His treatment will depend upon the investigation reports. The rash looks like urticaria. The welts can be due to some food allergy, insect bite (hives) or some drugs. Stop all addictions. Give your husband cold-wet compress can work, antihistamines, Take care of the hygiene. Get allergy tests done.
