What Do Rashes On The Face And Neck Indicate?

I have hives that have gradually spread over my neck and face. I have a prescription for psoriasis cream because my dr thought the hives were becoming psoriasis which I have had for 26 years. Recent trauma during the holidays I believe has brought on this massive amount of spreading hives. My face is deep red, hot and burning. My eyes swell at night but are better with ice. Nothing seems to help. Now my face has the loose flaking skin that peels off everyday. I look like an alien. Could it be something else?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

A rash is may be due to shingles, allergy, chickenpox, hives, and skin infection. Until examination is done, it is difficult to say what it is.

Use Moisturizer cream and take multivitamin tablets. If symptoms not improved, then please consult your doctor as he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
