What Do Rashes On The Lower Legs Indicate?

I have had for 24hours a combination of a rash on both inside lower legs, bowel irritating for about 4 hours, and later sourness of body to touch and slight fever. I am currently receiving with 18 hours of sleep and drinking water and ginger ale. I am beginning wanting food. Should I just continue h2o for additional time period. Your advise will be valued?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

As per your query you have symptoms of rashes on the lower legs which can be due to many reasons like contact dermatitis, eczema, heat rash or sweat dermatitis band could be due to allergic reaction of body.

Need not to worry. I would suggest you to apply ice pack to reduce redness and itchiness. Maintain good personal hygiene. Use a powder to avoid sweat collection and apply calamine lotion at the site of the lesion. Take Dolo to reduce fever every 6 hourly. If condition doesn't get well then consult dermatologist for proper examination. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics like Clindamycin, oral antifungal or antibacterial depending upon the diagnosis.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
