General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI,

A skin graft is normally done for areas where the skin has been severely damaged as in burn patients.

It is not used for skin grafts. It would be best to see a dermatologist for assessment of his skin disease. If he has already seen a dermatologist then he should seek a second opinion from another one.

The dermatologist would be able to better assess the area and may also go a biopsy to identify the nature of the skin disease.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Michelle Gibson James, General & Family Physician
