What Do Rashes On The Upper Arms And Thighs Indicate?

I am a school nurse. just saw a 12 year old girl with an unusual rash Scattered red papules over back of upper arms and on thighs. they are 0.4 to 0.5 CM in diameter. No vesicles. Can t visualize thighs. None on abd or back. they itch. No fever. No rash on webbing between fingers. She does not feel ill. Called mom and requested she see Dr. The rash looked unusual. wondering what were some of the possibility. No history or eczema. Denies using any new products, on no medication. Sorry, didn t realize this was fee based. Never mind.

hi mam,I really appreciate your care and concern for children and dedication towards your profession.please keep it up.coming to the causes of rash,as child is afebrile,no pain,no blistering,we can think of the following:
1)papular urticaria : it is a condition caused by either insects,mites or mosquitoes in the household or surroundings.avoiding exposure and covering the entire body by a proper clothing is the treatment.if the rash is severe,a corticosteroid cream can be used topically.
2)phrynoderma due to vitamin A deficiency.
2)allergic contact dermatitis
3)prodromal stage of chicken pox or measles
4)ring worm infection.

a dermatologist can easily diagnose just by examining the lesions.hope my answer clears your doubts.i pray god that the child recovers soon.any other health queries,please let me know.its my pleasure to be of any help to you.thank you.wish you a very happy,healthy and prosperous new year 2018.take care.bye.
