Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
hello my name is Joseph i have a 5 year old daughter who has recurring bumps on her jaw line near her ears. they go away and then return 4 to 6 weeks later. i have taken her to local ENT and they have suggested several different things pertaining to salivary problems tooth paste, mouthwash, etc. problem is still ongoing. any thoughts or experiences with this type of issue?
Your daughter is having symptoms of a bump on jawline near ear lobes which is mainly because of swollen lymph node like a sub-mandibular lymph node, could be due to parotid gland infection which can be due to mumps or parotitis and might be due to any stone in the salivary gland.
Need not to worry. I suggest you visit your oral and maxillofacial surgeon once and get an examination and an FNAC (fine needle aspiration cytology) done to confirm the diagnosis. Apply warm and cold compresses alternatively. Avoid itching and pricking area with a sharp object. Maintain hygiene.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
