What Do Recurring Pain In Stomach And Lower Back, Bloating And Heartburn Suggest?

After approximately 30 minutes to an hour after eating a large salad, I am wrought with horrible stomach pain, lower back pain, bloating, and fullness that can sometimes lead to reflux and heartburn type symptoms. It literally feels like someone has reached into my body and is squeezing my stomach. These symptoms can last for up to three consecutive days. I have no diarrhea or constipation issues and the stomach pain is not relieved after bowel movements. I am a 38 yr old female and have no known food, gluten, or lactose allergies. This just came on within the last year.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

There are certain foods that may increase the risk of bloating because they are associated with increased gas production eg cabbage, broccoli, turnips, beans, brussel sprouts, prunes, apples, cauliflower, peaches, some breads

Spicy, citrus foods can also do this.

Since you symptoms occur with the use of large salads, you may need to reduce any of the foods mentioned above and also decrease the salad size to see if this helps.

Using reflux medications such as nexium, prevacid , prilosec may also help.

I hope this helps
