Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
2 weeks ago I had 3 small red dots on the middle toe of my right foot. Two days later the skin was red, irritated, had blisters, but there was no pain or itching. Over the last 2 weeks it has slowly spread and it itched a few times one day. The skin has now peeled over 2/3 of the area and the skin underneath has turned red, swollen and it now hurts. It is also still slowly spreading.
Hello and thank you for asking! The symptoms you described are suggestive for infection of the nail and it's sorounding tissue. For a better diagnosis, would you please attach a picture of the toe? Will be a pleasure to help you further! Best wishes, Dr.Mirjeta
