Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello I recently had any exposure to poison ivy or oak and have seen a doctor and received a prescription for prednisone in diminishing doses. I m 3 days into the treatment and have developed a large darker red patch on my abdomen in the waistline. Is this a common reaction for prednisone?
Your symptoms are not a typical reaction to prednisone. I suggest you to stop using this medication. I also suggest to use antihistamines daily for relief. You can also use cool compresses for local relief.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
