What Do Red Rashes Around The Groin Area Indicate?

Hello, I have red blemishes near my groin and on top of my pubic area. Some are raised, most are flat, some are in a line, and some on top of my pubic area is just a small circle. I haven t shaved in a little while so I m not sure what it could be. Also, I have a whitish spot on my lip (round circle) with looks like bumps of my skin color inside (doesn t look fluid filled). Today skin broke off and then underneath looks a little yellowish. Is this because my lips are chapped?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

As per your query you have symptoms of rashes on groin which seems to be due to contact dermatitis and along with white spots on lips can be due to sun allergy or fungal infection. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to keep your skin clean and dry and protect it from sun. Apply only petroleum jelly and take antihistamine like Benadryl twice a day. Take vitamin B complex daily. If condition doesn't get well then consult dermatologist for proper examination. Doctor may prescribe immunosuppressants along with anti inflammatory and corticosteroid ointment. Doctor may order certain test like skin patch test , blood test , allergy test and take history to rule out the side effects of certain drug.
