Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Do Red Rashes In The Groin Area And Around The Navel Indicate?
I have raw red skin in areas of body including where the leg band of underwear hits, in the top area where buttocks split, and in and around my navel. In other words, everywhere that is a moist area and doesn’t have good air circulation. I’m approx 40 lbs overweight, and have type 2 diabetes, but no longer take metformin due to keeping numbers down. I use ointment prescribed by doctor which gets rid of it, but what causes it? I have a bad case now, although I have been doing a Keto diet for several weeks.
Hi Thanks for trusting healthcaremagic for your health problems.
I gone through your description. This is due to fungal infection in these area moist (sweating). You just sprinkle clotrimazole powder after taking bath twice a day. It will take 4-5 days to resolve.
For further prevention:- Clean these areas properly while taking bath. Use talcum powder particularly in summer to get these areas dry.
