What Do Red Spots On Face, neck And Chest Indicate?

I am a 62-year old woman with the sudden appearance of red splotches on my face, neck and upper chest. These areas get worse with heat and itch. I have been applying calamine lotion when at home. I had the same problem last winter when the heat was on in the house and at work. Help!

Hello dear,
Welcome to HCM.
I have read your query and understood your concern.

It seems that you are suffering from a condition called urticaria.
It is an allergic condition of skin characterised by red itchy bumps which may be due to infection, recent drugs, foods, pollen grains, seasonal variation and many more.

In such cases, i usually advise my patients to take tablet levocetrizine in night time for atleast 2 weeks.
Also get your complete blood count , absolute eosinophil count and thyroid function test.

I hope it helps.
Stay healthy.
