What Do Redness And Swelling At Incision Site Indicate?

I had a liproscopic gallbladder removal 1.5 years ago..incisions looked like they healed for the most part. But today I noticed that one is huge, swollen, red..only in that area. Should I be concerned? Another spot just like it appeared on my leg as well. Unrelated but I m worried of an infection

Hello,

Yes, there could be an infection or abscess. See a doctor as soon as possible. I doubt that the one on your leg is related, but still, you need to be checked by a doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Kathy Robinson, General & Family Physician
