What Do Redness In Knee Post Treatment For Cellulitis Suggest?

I fell down alittle over a month ago and ended up with my right leg from the knee down turning into cellulitis .i went for a DVT which came out negative . I was also put on antibiotics for ten days . Since finishing the medication I still have redness , although a smaller patch then it started with . I do have a dr appt in three days . Do u think I will need another round of antibiotics ?

Hi,

Redness is a sign of inflammation. Redness occurs because of localized vasodilation at the site because of inflammatory mediators. If present along with warmth and tenderness, its a sure diagnosis of persistent infection and requires further course of antibiotic or drainage.
