What Do Scar Tissues In The Brain On An MRI Report Suggest?

I just had a spinal tap to confirm (or rule out MS. How accurate is the test? I ve have an MRI showing numerous areas scar tissue in my brain and I have unexplained weakness. I m 63 yrs old and have suffered with fibromyalgia for many years. I thought MS usually struck younger people than me. My neurologist thinks I have MS or would not have ordered a lumbar puncture to try to confirm it.

Scar tissue in the brain suggests that there was some Cardio Vascular or other incident in the brain leading to damage to brain tissue. Depending on the area in the brain and extent of scar tissue you get symptoms like weakness, epilepsy, dementia etc. as different part of brain controls different actions of the body.
