What Do Small Purple Rashes On The Ankles Indicate?

I have two small patches of purplish/red discoloration on my lower legs just before my ankles on both feet. An orthopedist pointed it out to me years ago and mentioned what it is but I can t recall. I have no circulation or heart related issues. I d like to recall what it is. I don t believe it s reynards syndrome.

Hello,

Purplish discoloration at the ankles may be due to superficial veins being dilated. This is a very common finding with age and generally, there is nothing to worry about, especially if you do not have other symptoms (pain, swelling at the area, etc).

I hope this answers your query. I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.

Regards,
