What Do Stiffness And Pain Below The Left Shoulder Indicate?

I have had a stiffness and radiating pain below my left shoulder for several days. It radiates up into my neck and is very uncomfortable. I have tried a lidocain patch and creams and nothing seems to help. I can lift my arm without any problem but this discomfort seems to be getting worse. My email is

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You shouldn't ignore a pain located in left shoulder, arm and neck that doesn't get worse from movements.
It might be a neuromuscular disorder, but it might also be related to heart problems.
In my opinion you need a physical examination by a doctor to find the right diagnosis.
Meanwhile you can try using paracetamol+codeine two times a day.
