What Do The CT Scan Findings After Chemotherapy Indicate?

HAD A CT SCAN AFTER CHEMOTHERAPY FOR PANCREATIC CANCER WHIPPLE(1/31/14) AND THE CHEST FINDINGS STATED LINEAR ATELECTASIS VS FIBROSIS IS SEEN IN BOTH LUNG BASES LUNGS ARE OTHERWISE CLEAR. THERE IS NO PNEUMOTHORAX. CAUSE FOR CONCERN?? WHAT?? JOE 63 Y/O MALE

Hello

Your reports suggests small area of opacity in both lower zones of lungs,it may be due to small areas of collapse(atelectasis) or fibrosis.
Both conditions atelectasis and fibrosis are benign conditions and usually doesn't require any treatment.
Atelectatic areas are due to chronic secretions for prolong period and these are found in basal areas of lung in peripheral region.
Fibrosis may be sequel of past infection.
Findings are not serious and you may need only symptomatic treatment.
