What Do The Following GGT Levels Indicate?

Its about my GGT levels...in 1/4/14, it was 39. In 7/8/14 it was 22. In 2/9/15 it was 136 (ALT was 61). I am a 61 yo female. My meds are: simvar 20mg 1 a day, candesartan Combi 16/12.5 1 a day, Elaxine SR 37.5mg 1 a day (for hot flushes). Plus fish oil, multi vitamin, COQ10, Vit D, Zinc. I take Panadol once a night and mersyndol if I really need to. I occasionally have half a glass of wine at night - not every night. Can you tell me why it increased so quickly? Could I have a bug, as I have been nauseous, vomiting occasionally, bad headaches...

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

With regards to elevated GGT and SGPT for such a long time, I can say that:
- First of all, we need to rule out autoimmune disorder like autoimmune hepatitis or primary biliary cirrhosis.
You need to do an ANA, AMA and SMA to rule out autoimmune hepatitis.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Iven Romic Rommstein, General Surgeon
