What Do The Following UGT1A1 (TA Repeat) Test Results Suggest?

This is regarding UGT1A1 Gene Polymorphism (TA Repeat) test results. Results: TA Repeats : 7/8 UGT1A1 Genotype : UGT1A1 *28/*37 UGT1A1 *28/*37has been found to be associated with a reduced level of hepatic bilirubin - UGT1A1 enzyme,which supports the diagnosis of Gilbert s Syndrome. Please let me know if this means that patient is suffering from Gilbret s syndrome.

Hello,

You may be having a deficiency of UGTA1 enzyme lead to Gilbert syndrome. But it is nondangerous conditions. So don't worry but please consult your gastroenterologist he will examine and treat you accordingly.
