Goodness, thank you. Please know that I know you can't say anything to specific and I'm really just looking for ballpark answers here.
My older brother just received some very worrisome blood lab work results and his doc is worried and redoing the results after a week of his abstaining from drinking and smoking. But she expressed great concern that he might be very ill. He was diagnosed with prostate cancer a few years back and also struggles with alcoholism and gout.
His numbers are all over the place
Triglycerides high, HDl low
Glucose, high 132
Sodium, low, 133
Chlorine, low, 96
Calcium, low. 3.4
White blood cell count, low, 3.5
Platelet, low, 62
Anyway
He's following up with her
And while he's a bit of a train wreck
He has a very sweet heart
And I'm trying to help from afar
She mentioned some concern about his bone marrow?
or could this be symptomatic of cirrhosis?
Or the cancer spreading ?
He's worried it may be a heart issue too.
Mostly I'm just wondering if there's anything that leaps out at you, looking at his numbers.
Thank you for your time. I know it's not possible to make a diagnosis like this, I'm just looking for a direction that might be useful while we wait for the next round of tests.
