What Do The Lines Around The Neck Indicate?

I just noticed the lines around my neck are red and the creases seem slightly deeper. This is the second day. My 12 year old granddaughter noticed them yesterday. She said my neck was red.It feels irritated. I started a new job a little over 3 weeks ago and have been having pain and burning in the back of my neck.I m a seamstress. It is so intense at times I want to scream. Could the two be related?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Yes, it is quite likely related. If there is any itching then it is possible that you are having a reaction to something that has come into contact with the skin in this area. The use of an antihistamine and mild topical steroid would help relieve these symptoms. If the main symptoms are burning and pain then it is possible that it is related to the nerves in this area, abnormal function of the nerves is called neuropathy. It can be temporary or permanent.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
