Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have HCG levels at 1... not sure what that means. I havent had my period since Nov. I am also on B12 which i thought was the cause of it... The doctor says no. I went to do an Ultra Sound Friday.. retook my blood test today. I am stressed to the limit. Oh, I have had my tubes tied for almost ten years.. burned I mean. When the Ultra sound tech went poking around with her Sword it hurt on the right side and now i have been having slight cramps... but no period. Not sure if it matters but every month i go through my cycle without the actual period, cramping, emotions, ect. HELP ME!!!!
B12 has no such type of effect, which may cause amenorrhea, hence B12 does not seem a cause of disturbance in your menstrual cycle. A level of 1 of HCG is insignificant, as the least blood level of HCG at the start of conception is > 5mu/ml. Level
However, if the ultrasound shows any sign of pregnancy or your blood HCG level is more > 5 in your second sample, you are advised to consult your doctor. Also, if you are non-pregnant, then your symptoms of menstrual abnormality, should be due to any other cause, including psychological factors like anxiety or depression. Hence, your doctor should be able to chalk out a proper planning for your diagnosis and treatment.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
