Im Panicking! Just got results of Back X-Rays......(2) different Concerns. It says Surgical Clips are seen in the Right Supper Quadrant....Is This Normal After Gallbladder Surgery?? 2nd Question: I Just Read, If Non-Absorable Suture Materials Are Used That Can Expose Patients To The Risk Of Recurrent Stone Formation in The CBD...Is That True Thank You

Hi,

Yes, those clips are normal findings in routine x-rays. Surgical clips are applied during cholecystectomy (removal of gall bladder) on the cystic duct and artery.

These clips are made of metal (titanium) or plastic that do not harm the body and they are left in place.

Yes, it is true that the use of non-absorbable suture materials for cholecystectomy can expose patients to the risk of recurrent stone formation in the common bile duct (CBD).
